Professor Morag MacDonald (BA, PGCE, MA, PhD) is Director of the Centre for Research into Quality, having previously worked as a lecturer in the Sociology Department and been Reader in Policy Implementation at the CRQ.  Morag's main fields of expertise are prisons, their related health issues, Higher Education policy, social research and methodology.  Her research and consultancy expertise include working as a consultant for HEUNI (the regional office for the United Nations for Central and Eastern Europe), a PhD conducting a comparative study of the implementation of HIV, AIDS and drugs policies in the Italian and English and Welsh prison systems.  Morag has recently been involved in Training Criminal Justice Professionals in Harm Reduction Services for Vulnerable Groups for the European Commission (DG SANCO), and Drug Demand Reduction in Uzbekistan for USAID.
